Rachel, RVT

I started at Whyte Ridge in 2019, and graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Red River College in 2023. My special interests in the clinic are reptile and avian surgical procedures, and client education. I’m always available for a chat!

I've always loved animals, and started my menagerie with two gerbils when I was 13. Although Sweetie and Poppy aren't with us anymore, they did pave the way for my current herd: Blue the Dog, Chihiro the Conure, Peanut the Tarantula, Pharaoh the Dumeril Boa, Brunch and Crocodilly the Gargoyle Geckos, sweet rescue bunny Jim Hopper, Hedy Lamarr the Bearded Dragon, and little cockatiel Goose. I also spent 6 years working with farm animals, including cows, llamas, and emus.

In my spare time I love watching horror movies, playing DnD, supporting the local Winnipeg Professional Wrestling ring, and choreographing stage fights for local theatre productions.

I first entered the veterinary field in 2019 after completing the VOA program at Robertson College and joined the WRVH team in 2021 as a Veterinary Assistant. I graduated from the Veterinary technology Program in 2025 and remain a part of the team as an RVT!

I have always been extremely passionate about animals of all kinds and have a particular interest in reptiles. My favorite part of working at WRVH is the opportunity to see such a wide variety of animals! No day is ever the same! As an RVT, I have a particular interest in dentistry, cytology, and exotic animal medicine.

I currently share my home with a saucy little cat named Pluto, 2 crested geckos named Spud and Hashbrown, a ball python named Mara, a corn snake named Peach, and 4 tarantulas named Gertrude, Eugene, Gengar, and Vlad. In my free time I love going on long hikes, bird watching, and playing video games.

I am one of the RVTs at WRVH and I started working here in October 2021. I absolutely love the variety of patients I see here at Whyte Ridge now - not only do I see dogs and cats but I see birds, reptiles, and pocket pets oh my! It is safe to say I have a new found interest in exotic animal medicine.

I have a rabbit named Melon and three cats named Jet, Peanut and Maple. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets.

I started at Whyte Ridge in 2024 after developing an interest in the treatment and care of exotic animals. I graduated the Tech program at Red River in 2022 and worked in mixed animal practice previously.

My favorite part of being a Vet Tech is the laboratory diagnostics - the different ways these tests function and the way they can tell us all sorts of information about our pets is fascinating!

Before becoming an RVT I was a dog groomer (for 4 years!) and added a dog named Scout and a rabbit named Chopper to my home. When I'm not at work you can find me hanging out with family and friends, or out on a hike with Scout!

I started at Whyte Ridge in 2024 after completing the Veterinary Technology program at Red River. I initially did my practicum here and I'm so pleased to continue working and learning with this team of people!

I grew up spending time on my grandparent's hobby farm which helped me build my interest in animals big and small! I don't have any pets of my own YET... but I did grow up with a few fish and a hamster named Kiwi who I loved dearly.

In my spare time I love to travel (especially to the coast), spend time outdoors, curl up with a good book and a cup of tea, or enjoy a musical jam session with my friends.

I started at Whyte Ridge Vet Hospital as a receptionist after having a great experience here as a client. In fact, I've found veterinary medicine so interesting that I am now working my way through the Red River Veterinary Technologist program and I am set to graduate in 2027!

I have a soft spot for critters (starting with a hamster named Pickles that I hid in my closet when I was 16) and I now share my home with three sweet and sassy guinea pigs named Marley, Penelope and Cece.

When I'm not working you can find me at home relaxing with my guinea pigs while finding ways to celebrate Halloween all year round!

I joined the Whyte Ridge team in September 2023 as a receptionist after working at the Winnipeg Humane Society for 6 years.

Due to family allergies I grew up with two betta fish (Ribbon and Bow Tie) and two hamsters (Peanut and Moka) - but once I was out on my own I accumulated two wonderful cats named Guinness and Tootsie and one silly dog named Odie.

When I'm not working at Whyte Ridge you can find me around the city offering my services as a Certified Feline Behavior and Training Consultant through my business Candor Cats;

And when I'm not working at all, you can find me felting or embroidering something weird, watching a new TV Show or Movie, or debating whether I want to eat a chocolate bar or potato chips or both.

I started at Whyte Ridge Vet in October 2025 as a receptionist. This is my first animal related job, and I've been having an incredible time learning about all things animal.

While this might be my first time working with animals in a veterinary capacity, I am no stranger to life with pets! I grew up with a shih tzu named Geisha (whom I purchased with my babysitting money), and I currently live with a loveable mixed breed dog named Freyja.

My favorite part about working here has been getting to see, interact with, and learn about all the different types of exotic pets that we see here at the hospital. So far I've become obsessed with Bearded Dragons and all varieties of Birds.

When I'm not here I can often be found thrifting, sewing, playing video games or hanging out with my family!

I started at Whyte Ridge in October as a Veterinary Assistant. In 2022 I moved to Canada from Ukraine, where I was a practicing veterinarian. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Canadian license so I can continue practicing and start to provide care for pets here.

I dreamed of being a vet from a young age, and my favorite part about veterinary medicine is that it is a field of constant growth and learning. I love seeing pets of all kinds as they recover, gain confidence, and thrive. Working with exotic animals is particularly fascinating as they often bring unique challenges and offer endless opportunities to learn something new. With so many species there's so much knowledge to master and always more to explore! Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I'm happy to share it with my cat Efi here in Canada, and my Golden Retriever, Leopard Gecko and Tarantula in Ukraine.

When I'm not working I keep myself very busy! I enjoy engaging in active sports (I swam professionally for 13 years!), spending time in nature, listening to music, and discovering, exploring and expressing new skills, information, and ways to be creative. While I can do all of these things independently, I like doing them with my friends even more so you'll often find me with them too!
